Talking about performance, England lost the toss and came for field. English bowler couldn’t performed well on Durham pitch and took only 5 wickets, and Africa set the target of 334 in 50 over. Livingston taken highest 2 wickets from English side. In the batting department; going to chase the target of 334 run, Opener Roy and Bairstow given brilliant start. But after both dismissals except Root rest all players couldn’t perform well and lost the match. Root made highest 86 runs in 77 balls.
On the other side, African skipper won the toss and opt for bat first. Opener Janneman and Decock were playing well and unfortunately Decock dismissals in 7th over by Curran. But after that some good knocks by Janneman, Dussen & Markram, Africa set the target of 334 run. Dussen made highest 134 runs in 117 balls. Going to defend 334 runs, in the start African bowler couldn’t effective. But after Roy’s dismissal in 19th over, African bowlers didn’t give the chance for come back and sweeps away England from victory. Nortje highest 4 wickets taken from Africa side.
In 2nd Odi, South Africa will look for clinch this series. On the other side, England will try to make a comeback and keep their chances of winning this series alive.
