Hello and welcome to the match preview of the second T20 International between India and South Africa in Barabati Stadium, Cuttack which will be played on 12th June.
India lost the first T20 and was eluded from making the world record. However, they will be looking to level up the series on the Sunday night. The batting was splendid from the team in blue in the last game. Everyone chipped in and played crucial innings. Ishan and Gaikwad provided them the platform. The middle order fired as well with Pandya providing a strong finish and India ended on a 211-run total. However, the bowling let them down. Bhuvneshwar started well and other bowlers too chipped in with wickets till the halfway mark but after that it was a batting masterclass from the two proteas batsmen. India will be hoping a better bowling performance in the upcoming match.
South Africa won the 1st T20 which was a run-fest. They did not start well on a mammoth chase but Pretorious (who was promoted to no.3) provided them momentum with few lusty blows. Harshal sent him packing and India was all over them at the halfway mark. Then, enter “killer Miller” .He took the game away from India’s grasp and just like his recent prowess’s in the recently concluded IPL, he won the game for his team and was awarded with POTM. Rassie did his part as well and finished on 75*.Earlier, it was their bowling which allowed the opposition to make a mammoth score. None of the bowlers looked good except a returning Parnell. The spinners were taken to the cleaners. South Africa too will want a better bowling effort specially from the spinners on this slower deck.
