Match Preview : (By-Vishnu)
Hello and welcome to the match preview of the 3rd ODI between Zimbabwe and Afghanistan which will be played in Harare Sports Club on 6th June.
Afghanistan has won the first 2 matches and has pocketed the series. The game was a complete team effort from AFG however they will want their opening batsman, Gurbaz to score more runs. The veteran Rahmat Shah and the young opener Ibrahim Zadran had lovely knocks as the latter scored his maiden ODI ton. The bowlers did a remarkable job (especially Fareed Ahmad) restricting the hosts to 228 runs. All the bowlers bowled well but Afghanistan will want their premier spinner Mujeeb to deliver a better performance. Afghanistan will be looking to sweep the series in the upcoming match. In order to do this, the team will once again have to give a good performance.
On the other hand, Zimbabwe started well in the 2nd ODI as well yet they lost it. Despite an early wicket in their innings, Zim stabled themselves with a 47-run 2nd wicket. The middle-order stabled the game for them but the collapse completely derailed them and on stage, they were struggling to get 200 on the board. Burl with his 51-run innings took them to a respectable 228-runs score. The bowlers did not help either and they were completely outplayed by the Afghani batsmen. Zimbabwe will be looking to deliver much better performance from both the departments as the third ODI will be a pride match for them.
